Our Philosophy
San Martiño Winery & Vineyards, located in the outskirts of the
Dallas Metroplex, produces big, bold, full-bodied wines that deliver on
flavor. Each wine is a direct expression of our winemaking philosophy of
“maximum extraction, minimal intervention." To achieve this we obtain
the finest possible fruit, and make the finest possible wines. We are
committed to quality and value.
History
San Martiño Winery & Vineyards opened its doors in
the spring of 2004. We are a
small family-owned winery specializing in handcrafted wines using modern
techniques but with a traditional “soul” borne in the fertile lands of
northwestern Spain. The village of San Martiño,
(see picture below), located in the mountains of the
Galician region, has been making
traditional wines for hundreds of years. It was
at the
village of San Martiño that our love and
knowledge of wine and wine making techniques started. Through years of
watching and helping our family in the vineyard and the cellar we came to
appreciate the special
relationship between people, their land and the food they grow.
Our
Texas winery was created by borrowing from the traditions of the San Martiño
village and its people, the tenacity and resolution of our family and
learned modern wine-making techniques. Our heritage is rich and although we are not Texas largest
winery, we aim to be the best!. Here you can
watch us grow and participate with us as we travel together in this
adventure because we know that without you we are not.
So come by and visit with us while
relaxing with a glass or bottle of one of our wines. Bring a picnic and enjoy a break
from the rat race.
